Application FTA345 - Gibbston Village

The Ministry of Environment has released the Application FTA345 - Gibbston Village details on 13 December 2024. The Ministry said

β€œThe release includes information submitted to the Ministry for the Environment to the Fast-track applications portal between 3 April and 3 May 2024.

The release covers project details (such as the region and sector of activity). The 149 project applications were released first because they have been through the first stage of the referral process, are listed in the Fast-track Approvals Bill and can apply for consideration by Expert Panels when the Bill becomes law next year.”

Now that the GVS application is public information, we hope that GVS will be more forthcoming in sharing any other relevant information.

On the QLDC front, FOGCZ hopes that QLDC can start to allow the Gibbston community to be heard. GVS has been in discussion with QLDC since May 2024 on its Fast Track application but QLDC claimed that they have no knowledge of GVS proposal. This correspondence proved otherwise.

In the Mountain Scene survey which is still ongoing, over 80% of the respondents said QLDC should listen.

Jane Shearer published an article No Free Speech Here which is an excellent read.

FOGCZ will need a lot of help to prepare and work on being heard by the Expert Panel. One supporter has volunteered in the area of project development and infrastructure. With the help of another supporter, the FOGCZ website and Facebook page are reaching out to our viewers.

Once you have read through the GVS application, and if you can help, please reach out to FOGCZ fogczgroup@gmail.com. Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Please continue to use FOGCZ Facebook to share your comments.
