QLDC continues to silence us on Fast Track matters. Why oh why? Please use our Facebook page to express your views.
On 20 March 25, a Gibbston resident was allowed to speak on non-Fast Track matters at the full QLDC meeting. The topic was “Gibbston, an underappreciated asset for the Lakes Region.”
Fast Track has its own website - https://www.fasttrack.govt.nz/
The next full QLDC meeting will be on 17 April 2025 at 10am (10 Gorge Road). Please consider speaking at the 3-minute session. Let us know, if you are so that we can be there to support you.
Sewage Management is a mounting problem for Queenstown. Adding more homes than what was planned for, and build in haste for a profit, will add to the problem.
1news - Queenstown considers discharging treated wastewater into river
There is a protest happening this Wednesday morning ahead of QLDC’s media stand-up at the Shotover Wastewater Treatment Plant. QLDC aims to discharge 12000m3 of treated effluent into the Shotover River (which onflows to the Kawarau river). 12,000m3 on a daily basis!
The group will meet at the little car park where Quail Rise meets SH6A (next to the Shotover Bridge). It starts there at 8am (to get support from morning traffic) and then the group will move to the site of the media ‘stand up’.
